5 Home remedies for dandruff that really work


NEEM

Neem is a wonderful antidote commonly used in several medicinal preparation. It has antifungal properties and is very effective in treating hair fall and scalp conditions like itchiness effectively.
Boil a handful of neem leaves in a liter of water. Let the liquid cool down to room temperature. Strain the liquid to separate the leaves. Use this liquid three to four times a week to rinse your hair after washing it.
COCOUNUT OIL AND LEMON

Coconut oil is a great moisturizer and is the best antidote for dry skin and hair. Mix in a few drops of lime into 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil. Massage your scalp with this and let it sit for an hour or two. Shampoo it off as usual.
The acidity of lime helps to restore the pH balance of the scalp and thus keep it dandruff-free.However, lime juice can dry your hair and make it brittle. This is why you should mix it with coconut oil, which is a natural moisturizer and soothes the hair naturally.
OLIVE OIL

Olive Oil has been known to be a miracle cure to treat dry scalp for ages. Massage into your scalp and cover your head with a shower cap for the night. The heat produced this way along with the moisturizing properties of olive oil will work jointly to rid your scalp of its dryness.

MOUTHWASH

Mouthwash has alcohol which might be just what you need to wash off dandruff-causing bacteria. First shampoo your hair as normal. Then rinse it with mouthwash and follow it up with your conditioner. The antifungal properties of the mouthwash will work to curb dandruff-causing bacteria and prevent it from growing.
GARLIC

Garlic has great antifungal properties which can work wonders against the dandruff-causing bacteria. Crush a few garlic pods and massage them into your hair. If you have a problem with the potent smell, mix crushed garlic with honey and massage your scalp with it. Wash it off with a mild shampoo as usual.
